Get Involved!

Stockton Library Service is thrilled to be part of the Stockton & Darlington Railwat Festival, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the first journey on the Stockton to Darlington Railway! This incredible festival will span 9 months in 2025 across County Durham and the Tees Valley, featuring a series of free, large-scale outdoor spectaculars, events, and exhibitions.

Get Involved in the Bicentenary Community Quilt Project!

Stockton Borough Council are calling on community groups to join them in creating a stunning patchwork quilt using textile and fibre art techniques. This quilt will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the historic opening of the first passenger railway between Stockton and Darlington. The finished artwork will be toured around library spaces, creating a legacy, and increasing awareness of this significant milestone.
