The Sunday Lunch Service was started in 2019. Every Sunday, approximately 70 two course hot meals, consisting of a main meal and a dessert, were delivered to elderly residents in Billingham.
This scheme ran with the assistance of councillors, three paid staff and volunteers, including drivers. As part of Student Volunteering week, two sixth form students volunteered their time to help at the project, gaining valuable skills and experience.
Since December 2019, over 15,000 lunches have been delivered.
The service ended in April 2024. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the delivery of this service.
